The most current Thrustmaster wheel is the Grand Prix 1.  This unit has
everything on the wheel, no pedals.  Therefore, it is cheaper.  It boils
down to personal preference on whether or not you want to use pedals.

Comp USA is selling a T2 wheel & pedals for $99. including instant
rebate (normally $129).  Can someone in the know tell me if there is a
"current version" of the wheel?  I'm worried the one on sale may be an
older version not as desireable.   If there is an improved version,
can you tell me what to look for on the box (features, etc.)

None that I know of.  They all use bungee cords and the coil springs on the
pedals.
