Comp USA is selling a T2 wheel & pedals for $99. including instant
rebate (normally $129).  Can someone in the know tell me if there is a
"current version" of the wheel?  I'm worried the one on sale may be an
older version not as desireable.   If there is an improved version,
can you tell me what to look for on the box (features, etc.)

The older version is called the T1.

The old version is called the T1.  It lacks the T2's padded wheel (it
has a thin plastic one) and has rollers instead of pedals.  The two are
quite easy to tell apart.

The T2 that Comp is selling is indeed the latest version of the Formula T2.
