Any advance on NFS5 ?

by Phillip Arche » Wed, 04 Apr 2001 15:31:05

Just wondering if any of you knowledgeable folks has heard any
whispers/rumours etc. about the next version of Need for Speed. I'm having a
great time with NFS5 and was hoping that the next version mightn't be too
far away.
An NFS6/ Ferrari-Unlimited sounds like a good thing to me ;-)
                  TIA..

I'm reading Burt Levy's book "Montezuma's Ferrari" right now, and I'd
also LOVE to see NFSFU, too (they might have to call it "Ferrari 2001"
though, to avoid the unattractive acronym!).

Unfortunately, EA is heading down the rosy "Motor City Online" path at
the moment, and once they recover from the financial hit from getting
burned by that, we may NEVER see another NFS title from them ever
again.  Their programming time could be MUCH better spent, IMO.

P.S.  If you're a sports car nut, I'd highly recommend reading Burt
Levy's "The Last Open Road" and the sequel, "Montezuma's Ferrari" --
check your local library.  GREAT books about sportcar racing in the
'50s -- I've gained a whole new appreciation for the Carrera
Panamericana race just from the second book!

I remember that cruel April Fool's joke last year...

Thanks,
