"GP3 video looked like neat, didn't it? I really doubt Hasbro/MicroPiss
products since Falcon 4.0. I read a statement at simracingnews.com,
"Hasbro is dominating development manner" or something.

Y.Minami "
- I agree with you 100%!
-I don't know if Mr. JBodin is aware of this, but Hasbro totally axed (canned,
fired, quit developing, whatever you want to call it) the Microprose Develop
team that brought the sim flying world all those marvelous FALCON F-16 flt
sims. Gone!!!! No more patches, no support...GONE!!!! (Thanks HASBRO....).
IMHO, the best Microprose stuff was before HASBRO took over.
-OT Note: I'm curious to see what this B-17 II game will be like now that
HASBRO has their finger in the pie.

Some people just don't understand the difference between a developer
and a publisher.   Here, let me make a simple comparison for you kids
who don't understand the difference?  Do you think Simon & Schuster
Inc wrote all the Stephen King novels?  NO, they just publish them for
Stephen King!  Stephen King writes the dam books.  Now, if Simon &
Schuster publish a crappy book, does that mean that all the books they
publish will suck? NO!  The only thing it might mean is the person who
wrote the crappy book might not be a good writer.  Now think Hasbro.
Hasbro is the publisher.  GP3 is done by that crappy programmer, Geoff
Crammond.  Nascar Heat is done by the brilliant guys at MGI.  The two
games have nothing to do with each other except the fact they both
chose Hasbro to publish their work.  Class dismissed!

true, but I think I read it may not come with NH.  N4 will most likely be
able to use GPL tracks...those are the BEST tracks in the world.  Also by
saying a track editor is readily available is like saying GP3 is an awesome
sim then...Although I'm sure NH will be much closer to that classification
than GP3 was.

I know I would prefer to race against 20 people online...

GPL's AI is far superior to any of the NASCAR sims though....also I read a
preview in a magazine (I believe PC Gamer) where they said the

I don't think  any self-respecting car painter uses the provided paint
program anyway...usually grafx of any type are done in a professional paint
program like PSP.

Both come down to 3 chars though
N4: G-P-L
GP3: G-P-2

Honestly it probably won't be amazing on ovals, what Papy had was fine for
ovals...but throw a stockcar on a road course and  I think you'll see N4
shine.  Heck I son't think NASCAR on ovals is a staisfyiong thing to watch
anyway...on road courses those bulky cars can sure put on an "interesting"
race though.

Thankfully we'll have NH to releave some of the build-up though.  GP3 was a
solid year and a half of build-up only to show us that it was a patched GP2
(much like N2->N3), this time we have the 2 best sims being updated though.

At least some of us have word from friends that were at the E3 Expo
that it will kick ass. Nuff said. :)

One reason is because Crammond has nothing to do with Nascar Heat :)

For one thing, it has a history of a good 3D physics engine (Viper
Racing). Second, I know a serious sim-head who played both N4 and
Nascar Heat at E3, and said they are both awesome, with a similar kind
of feel.
