ALMS Mod for F12001...Help

by Edward » Wed, 01 May 2002 21:55:05

Hi Guys,
I had to reformat and I am trying to install the ALMS mod again, but I
keep getting the F1 cars. Here is what I did in order...
installed F1 2001
installed developer update #1
went in the game and created a player, set options etc..exited
ran the ALMS installer
ran the program that brings up the copy files and create config.ini
copied shortcut and put in the target line the config= etc (copied and
pasted from the help file

But I still get the F1 cars, I had it working just fine before the
reformat, what did I do wrong

System...
P4 1.6
WinXP
Geforce2 MX400
392 megs ram
SB Live

Thanks
Edward

  Your config file was probably still there for both sims and now with a
fresh install the F1 part is different than the ALMS version copy the the
line that begins with   videoguide= so that the line of numbers after the
equal sign are the same in both the config.ini( the original F1 file) and
your ALMS2001GT.ini match.

OBJDETAIL=3
TEXDETAIL=3
VIDEOGUID=D7B71E3E-4141-11CF-E57D-312001C2C935
GAME_DATABASE=GAME.GDB
(snip)
    copy and paste the number from your config.ini to your alms2001gt.ini

I checked this Dave and they were both identical where you indicated, I
copied and pasted anyway just to make sure. However I didn't have this
line in either .ini file..GAME_DATABASE=GAME.GDB

I don't think it makes a difference as the F1 cars still work.
Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help
The only difference last time was I installed the GT Mod first, then
later the ALMS mod.... Aarrgh, I want the ALMS cars :-(
