Yeah, did you hear one of his interviews this weekend, he said
something like this:

Yes, it was a good journee... um... day...

Nice Franglais. He almost got away with it, too. If you didn't know
the word journee, you would have thought he was clearing his throat or
something :-)

Since when is Quebecois French?  ;)

Well since when is French actually French in France? It's more like English
words pronounced in French nowadays ;-)

Had a funny laugh when I saw the French trailer for Spiderman last week.  It
was obviously dubbed in France, as instead of saying it "L'homme Araigne"
(like it really should be said), he said "Spiderman" but as if you read it
in French.  The whole theater started laughing!

Ok, I've posted two versions (small and big) to
alt.binaries.simulators.autos

Enjoy!

Thanks Dave, but I'll stick with another Gilles as my driving hero:

Gilles Villeneuve

I have reformatted and re-installed so many times I don't have a decent
set of bookmarks anymore.  There is/was a site that had several F1 videos
(not video tapes but .avi's or .mpg's that you could download.  I think
there was footage from the Nurburgring and many other racing shots...I want
to say the video in question was Villeneuve vs Patrick Tambay in a Renault
Turbo...but I'm just foggy enough not to be sure...the last few laps shown
in that vid clip are what racing is allllllll about.
  Anyone have the URL????

Do you mean the one with some wheel banging, drivers running wide, creative
racing lines, multiple passes?  (Sounds like a typical GPL race).  That
would be Villeneuve vs. Arnoux in France, and it is a marvellous bit of
racing (for 2nd place).

cheers

Any chance of someone putting the clip on a website somewhere? No
access to the binaries group, dammit. And the couple of free ones I
know have missing posts.

Don't have a URL but I could post it on the web if you are keen
(although it's a bit dodgy in quality). A most amazing piece of
driving by GV and Rene Arnoux at Dijon in '79, pure determination by
GV there.
