How about putting gas/brakes on the y-axis of the joystick and steering on
x-axis. Then you can use the buttons for gearshift. Set steering to non-
linear mode so that the car handles less sensitively. Also, change the wheel
lock in the car suspension setting to 8. With a little practise you should
be able to drive around the road courses without too much trouble. I still
tend to drive with damage set to off, cause I still make errors because of
too sensitive turning.
But, the main difference is the analog gas and brake. With these you can apply
little gas when exiting a corner as opposed to waiting until you're completely
out of the corner with digital gas. Same thing with braking, you can more
easily still brake when starting to a turn.
