Andretti drove it on dirt for the first time with a car with no power
steering. He said his hands were like hamburger meat when he finished.

There lots and lots of classes and era's this engine would work with. More
than one company could ever cover. These are the extentions we should all be
working on, if Sierra had the balls of id software and released the code and
tools to the net.

THe one turn of Langhorne speedway is still there.   The area has built up immensely over the
years.  My father has a lot of videos of the old Langhorne Speedway.   Most don't remember,
but there was an 1/8 mile drag strip there too.   My father and uncle destroyed a few cars
there, because the shut down was so short, and the brakes on the cars sucked back then.
The site is now a car dealership, K-Mart, and Levitz furniture store.

Yeah, the WHOLE 68 or 69 season would be great! Indy... and even the
road course at IRP! AND the dirt stuff. That would be totally cool.

BTW, does anyone know when they last raced on the dirt as part of the
championship? I probably have info on it, but I can't seem to find it
now...

This is an educated guess but i think it was 72 or 73 before they stopped
racing dirt.  For a while i know the pavement cars had wings while the dirt
didnt so it had to be the 70s.

This sim if ever produced would be a instant success with long time
race fans. What gpl is to grand prix racing, Indy 500 Legends most
certainly would be to Cart fans. Now if only someone would consider
making a sim of the glory years of the Can-Am.

Ohhhhhh....Phoenix when it was DIRT....start running it in a front-engine
roadster and you get the start of Mario Andretti's career (a tire test at
Phoenix)

I'd have to say i'd prefer early 80's Group C sportscars, myself.
