Throttle stuck, AFAIK. Only shot I saw on NBC Nightly News, while obscured
by loads of crewpeople, didn't really seem to show much damage to the left
side of the car...

Didn't know until I saw it here. What a way to start the weekend :-(

I don't follow NASCAR, but you can't be interested in motorsport
without appreciating the Petty family's achievements. You have to
respect anyone who can get to this level at 19.

Deepest condolences to all his family and friends. RIP.

What a damn shame. I was watching this kid rising to become
another Petty star. Now this kid of 19 is gone. My sympathies
to the Petty family, and to the NASCAR family. We all lost a
good one there. He was a good kid.

I was actually in shock when I read about it on the Speedvision News ticker
today. Damn shame is all I can say. He was quite a driver and had star
quality written all over him. Real nice kid too. You never heard him talk
foul of anyone for any reason. Hate to see his life and career cut so short.
My condolonces to the Petty family and to the NASCAR fraternity. RIP Adam.

I saw it on MSNBC, and then started checking for info on ESPN... read the
headline on the bottom line aloud, and even my brother who has no interest in
auto racing said, "Holy sh**"...

This is one of those parts of racing we all try to forget exists... and then
something like this pops up out of the blue to remind us all. Condolences to his
friends and family.
