On race start (at pole) 20(23)fps.
At back of pack (roughly 2 laps later) 10(11)fps.
With all graphics off, add about 5 fps to both rates.
I find it playable because I can't upgrade at this time. It is challenging though
to keep out of accidents when the frame rate drops.
Most serious gamers would want to upgrade to at least a Celery 300.
If you plan to race online, a good connection would help too.
I don't plan to TRY online until I can get better frame rates.
But definitely get a good 3d accelerator. It sounds like your card is old if it only has 2Mb.
I've heard Glide is better than D3D in N3, but haven't tried it.
You might have some luck on Ebay getting Voodoo1 cards for less than $20.

Maybe if I had experience of how it runs on a more powerful system I
wouldn't be quite so happy with it but I suppose it's a case of what the
eye's haven't seen the heart can't grieve over ;O)
