I am running a K6233 with 64 RAM and Monster Fusion 16, SB64 sound.
I use Glide rendering with Anti aliasing off, all graphics on, at 800x600x16,
43 cars 12 ahead 4 behind track draw 3 skid buffer low.

On race start (at pole) 20(23)fps.
At back of pack (roughly 2 laps later) 10(11)fps.

With all graphics off, add about 5 fps to both rates.

I find it playable because I can't upgrade at this time. It is challenging though
to keep out of accidents when the frame rate drops.

Most serious gamers would want to upgrade to at least a Celery 300.
If you plan to race online, a good connection would help too.

I don't plan to TRY online until I can get better frame rates.

But definitely get a good 3d accelerator. It sounds like your card is old if it only has 2Mb.
I've heard Glide is better than D3D in N3, but haven't tried it.

You don't need a PII.  I have a Pentium233MMX with 64MB and N3 runs fine
with most details on.  I do agree that you need a 3D accellerator though.  I
have a lowly Monster 3D 4MB Voodoo1 and like I said, N3 is fine with that
setup.

You might have some luck on Ebay getting Voodoo1 cards for less than $20.

Sorry for the lateness of this reply, haven't been online for a few days.
I'm running N3 on my P233 MMX, 64mb RAM and 16mb Voodoo Banshee card,
Thrustmaster Formula 1 wheel and pedals. A little bit of tweaking here and
there with the graphincs settings has the sim running fine in my setup.

Maybe if I had experience of how it runs on a more powerful system I
wouldn't be quite so happy with it but I suppose it's a case of what the
eye's haven't seen the heart can't grieve over ;O)
