f12000 cheating

by kay » Mon, 31 Jul 2000 04:00:00

I received two e-mails(as below) from ea sports about f12000 race challenge
and yet after many laps of Hockenheim I only managed a time of 1:51:133,this
I got by cutting the chicanes and fortunately not being black flagged.Yet on
the race challenge website I see the fastest time so far is 1:32:537 and the
slowest 1:43:446.Now while I don't want to sound as if I have a case of sour
grapes,it may just be I'm a ***driver,but on a track like Hockenheim I
just don't see how I could knock even 8 secs off my lap time let alone 19!So
it appears the cheating is still taking place.

Notice to all Race Challenge Players
It has been brought to our attention that some players have made illegal
modifications to the game in order to obtain faster times in previous races.
Please note that Mobil and Electronic Arts will not tolerate this type of
entry. Action will be taken against any individual winner who is found to be
manipulating the game in such a fashion, and therefore contravening section
5 of the terms and conditions of the competition. For this reason the winner
of the Monaco Grand Prix has been disqualified and will not be able to take
part in any future promotions that may be offered by Mobil and Electronic
Arts.

Any Mobil 1 Race Challenge participant found to be posting times that can
only be obtained by infringing the rules and regulations will face similar
action.

Any participant that is disqualified from the promotion will not be eligible
for any prizes and will have their current championship points re-allocated
to other players.

On behalf of Mobil and Electronic Arts we appreciate your co-operation and
hope you continue to enjoy the EA SPORTS/ Mobil1 Race Challenge.

Regards

EA SPORTS/Mobil 1 Race Challenge team.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL RACE CHALLENGE PLAYERS

27/07/2000

IMPORTANT NOTICE
All Race Challenge participants should note that the overall winner of the
competition will be required to prove his/her fastest lap times in front of
a competition judge on a number of circuits before the main prize of a
Mercedes A-190 is awarded. This testing session will take place at the
participants nearest Electronic Arts office on a dedicated PC. Players may
use their own peripherals i.e. steering wheel and pedals

A maximum of three potential winners of the Mercedes A-190 will be tested.
If, after testing three players, a legitimate winner is not identified the
Mercedes A-190 prize will be withdrawn.

In the event that players refuse to be tested, the tenth position player
will be the lowest placed player that will be tested before the prize is
withdrawn.

In the event that the judge determines that the participant has not obtained
their times in an acceptable manner, or the participant refuses to take part
in a testing session, they will not be eligible for any prizes (this
includes any VIP Grand Prix trip prizes that the participant may have won in
earlier races) and will be excluded from any future promotions between Mobil
and Electronic Arts.

This ruling is in accordance with Section 5 of the EA SPORTS/Mobil 1 Race
Challenge Rules and Regulations.

Regards

EA SPORTS/Mobil 1 Race Challenge team.

Check out the hotlaps at bhmotorsports.com, and their rules
and system of verification.   Looks like the best talent in
the world can't break 1:36.

You are right in a way. Also on bhmotorsports the most use the tricks. Read
the guide at the F1 2000 section.
BUT !!!!!

I did a time in Hockenheim without any tricks (i hate it), and i managed to
do a best lap of 1:41:059. It IS possible. I practised a lot. I have to say,
your time can be beaten really easy. Sorry to say. Did you work on your
settings?

I hope you race without any helps (or only abs), because you are always
quicker without helps (ofcourse you have to practise that..)

Good luck

Being the one that has the record<cough, cough ;)>, I'll be *damned*
if I'm going to knock 4 seconds off my PB...

Then again, Greger Huttu doesn't seem to have begun racing
hockenheimring yet(hush, don't tell him to)... ;o)

The Replay Manager rocks, at least one up thing that F12k has on the
other sims. Hopefully this can be implemented in other sims too...
