MGPRS2 - V3 - Stuttering

Hi

Just been trying MGPRS2 having installed a voodoo 3 3000 on a p2 450 - 128
mb. It runs ok but there is stuttering frame rate every 4 or 5 seconds. It`s
just a momentary pause - not too serious but is annoying. Other games / sims
are great GPL, SCGT, TOCA 2.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Try closing down all other programs that are running...i.e.-Virusscan, MS
shortcut bar, etc. BEFORE running MSGR2.  It solved the problem for me.
(I too have the same specs as you P2-450 128, and V3 3K)

If you have the latest V3 drivers, that's your problem.  Copy the
glide*.dll and glide*.ovl files off the original driver CD to your
MGPRS2 directory, and that should fix it - worked for me!

Yes, I have almost the same config and it's doing the same for me in N2. I
haven't tried the other racing software yet. A pause every 4-5sec on a V3 3500.
This really effects braking as it kills the controller input. I will try
installing the other glide.dll but don't know what versions are the older
ones????
Thanks, Matt

Hello,

It's also happening to me as well. Would you know where I could get the
original glide files from??? and what versions they are.... Much
appreciated.... Same with a V3 3500 by the way :o(
Thanks, Matt

Thanks for the tip. I copied the files off the V3 driver cd into the MGPRS2
directory and it runs MUCH smoother. Thanks again.

Just checked it on my system - same stutter.

This was already with that quake driver. Incredible, that 3DFX doesn't
care at all.

I'll go back to the retail CD-drivers. At least they work.
