I had the same problem when I installed NR99. It needs the T2 to show up in
the Control Panel. I tried everything and eventually I tried T2 without an
adapter several times and kept rebooting -- finally it recognized the T2 on
that setting and it's been stable ever since. So, try T2 without
adapter...Good luck!!

t2 and win98

howdy all,

got a problem with the new system using win98 and the ts steering wheel with
pedals.  i was able to use it fine with the old system win95 and an awe32
card but now have an overclocked celeron 266 (400 mhz.) and an mx200
monstersound card.  when i attempt to install the t2 it shows as not being
connected.  strange thing is the joystick works so i know the port is
active, and when in joystick mode the t2 will move the cursor around in the
calibration mode for the joystick when the t2 is plugged in so i know the t2
is sending a signal to the port.

is anyone else having this problem?  why isn't the t2 showing as connected
when it's sending a signal to an active port?  when the t2 is selected in
the monster game port, i get a 'not connected' message when attempting to
calibrate.  the standard gameport selection simply doesn't work at all.

any advice would be appreciated.

I have a t2, and struggled for years to get it to work with windows 95/98.
Apparently, with the fast pentiums, which basically means any pentium, the
computer is checking the status of the gameport too often to properly
calibrate, or even to recognize the existence of a joystick. What you need to
do to is go to the Thrustmaster site, www.thrustmaster.com, and download a
utility called ProPanel, it's free. It works very well, although i'm not quite
sure how, by acting as a filter between the gameport and the cpu.
