Hi Richard,

I am not sure this is the same on all tracks, but this issue existed already
in N4. I noticed it at Watkins Glen for example.

It is my impression that it happens on tracks where you don't cross the s/f
line when starting from the pits. The first lap that gets counted is the
first lap you do after crossing the s/f line the first time. If that line is
in a track location where you don't cross it when starting from the pits,
this 'out'lap isn't counted.

I think quite a few drivers must have reported this to Papy, and I was
surprised to see this in N2002 as well. From this fact I concluded that this
is obviously how it's supposed to be, i.e. how it's in real Nascar -
everyone starting from the pits is a lap down at certain tracks. Is that so?

Achim

Thanks Achim. If I recall correctly. When I was leaving the pits, it showed
a lap down already. I could be mistaken, but I was thinking, A lap down
already I haven't even done a lap.

Most likely didn't click into the race itself on time,  by not finishing
qualifying your basically taking a provisional and starting at the rear.

Sorry I didn't make it guys, something came up and I had to run my daugher
out and about.. I look foward to joining some of your races here soon.

The only reason you would start in the pits is if you didn't join the
race before the pace lap started.  At that point, you start in the pits,
and you can't exit them until all of the cars have passed the exit to
pit road.

I know for 99.9% sure what your problem is David... I have lost countless
points and races due to a freezing computer.
ohhhhhh the agony the agony :(

My problem turned out to be heat related... I installed a new fan and put
the casing back on my computer a few weeks ago, since then I have not had
one single freeze ... wooohoooo ;)

It's the heat that cause your computer to freeze.. sounds a bit wierd *lol*

If it's a heat problem - wouldnt running in a lower resolution reduce the
amout of heat generated??
Have you tried to run it in a lower res. and "timed" the period it takes
before a freeze occurs??

>Thanks Eldred for hosting.

You're welcome.  Too bad the hosting didn't give me any karma with better
speed...<g>
Oh well - I hadn't turned any laps at either of those tracks before yesterday,
so my poor showing was to be expected.  Hadn't planned to make the RAS race at
ALL, but I got caught out by the time change and missed my MoG race.  Damn...
