I have version 1.05 of WC/F1GP.  To avoid the hassle of searching trough
the manual each time I want to play, I downloaded and tried F1gpcrk.zip.
I can't get it to work. Does it only work on ver 1.04?  If so is the a pass
word elimanator for ver 1.05?

Thanx,
Nathan

Could I get a password eliminator too?  I had one and it made
the password ask for page 548 paragragh 345....etc.  You see the
problem here.....and yes, 'monza' didn't work.
Also, what is the difference between ver1.04 and ver1.05.  I
noticed no difference in grip (i.e. the first two turns at Portugal
didn't produce huge oversteer compared to ver1.04 with the same
setup..64/40?)  My version (1.04) has modem capabilities...I purchased
it only 4 months ago.  What the update did do was change the colors of
the cars.  Any answers are greatly appreciated by either posting or email.

                                                Thanks in advance,
                                                Scott K.
p.s. Sorry for replying with another question.

PLEASE people, read the FAQ before posting questions. The best crack
(the "MONZA" one) is detailed there...

ftp://ftp.uwp.edu/pub/msdos/romulus/cracks/f1gp_all.txt

Now read the FAQ
http://www.mal.com/~dgymer/f1gp-faq/

or wait for details of how to get it via mail to be posted here (every
damn week, guys!).

Huh?????  Why not instead spend under 5 minutes ftp'ing and installing
the crack?  Since when was 'fetching cracks' such a big pain??  No
'slow FTP connection' excuses, since there's that good F1GP site located
in the UK.

Just curious,

I find the best thing to do is keep a list of the passwords when you
look them up, and then use the list. You only need about thirty or so
to get at least one from your list out of three chances (just guess
`the' if you don't have the one asked for on your list). This way you
don't need to worry about joystick conflicts, fetching cracks, or
binary editing. Of course this assumes you have the manual!

This is what I do. My list is almost complete and contains about 100
entries, sorted by page. German version, but Page, Paragraph and Word
are the same in every language, so the words can be looked up.
The less you patch, the better it works. (just a general opinion)

Well, why re-invent the wheel.  The manual already has all the words you
need and you don't have to do any work like writing anything down.

I think if we refer to the original question, this will make
more sense - How do we play the game without having to dig up the
manual every time?  I appreciate the replys from everyone, including
those that say write down all the usual passwords but, I was hoping to
find a code that worked.  In other words, I went to the ftp site and
downloaded a crack and it's the same one I have been having trouble
with!  Do I need to have version 1.05 of F1GP to get it to work?
Which brings up my next question...what is the difference
between v 1.04 and 1.05?  I have 1.04 and I got the new version via
the Web.  The only difference I see is in the "About World Circuit"
screen where it says v1.05 instead of v1.04.  The car seems to handle
the same....i.e. no HUGE oversteer in the first to corners of Portugal
(as was the test I read about on the web).  I got the game this past
June so why wouldn't I have bought the most recent version?  It has
modem capabilities, the only difference is the v1.04 in the "About..."
screen.  Any help?
Scott
p.s. also still looking for a good crack code or solutions to my above
problem with said crack...(f1gpcrk.exe from ftp.uwp.edu)
