Anyone know if this sim is still being made?  Other than the Avault
preview (http://www.racesimcentral.net/) that appeared a while
back, I've seen nothing on this game... Anyone know anything?

I picked up a little info this evening as a matter of fact. The title is still
very much alive. I'm looking forward to finally getting to race at Riverside!

I was fortunate enough to have been able to really race at Riverside
years ago with the local Alfa Club. I had an 85 Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo
that HKS used as a prototype for an intercooler and chip. I was able to
raise my boost from stock 7psi on up to 25psi (but not for long
stretches <G>). When it was my turn to drive in front of the instructor
in his race prepped Alfetta GT, it was the last he saw of me :)

That track was GREAT! Specially the bank at turn 9. But I will always
say, the BEST track I have ever been on is Road America, PERIOD!

Don't worry, we're still hard at it, trying to get the game finished for
Christmas.  There will be another preview in one of the major magazine's
November issue (hint: it's not Next Gen. or CGW).  We're also hoping to
release details soon about the confirmed tracks and drivers to be featured
in the game.  The intent is to produce a high-quality product with a
definite focus on simulation as well as the historical aspects of what many
consider to be the most exciting period in Trans Am racing.

A lot of effort is being expended at the moment refining our career or
"Season" mode - the plan is to enable all season features during multiplayer
games, with the host computer responsible for setting up the season schedule
and keeping track of driver's and manufacturer's points for all players
participating.  Also, the host will be able to set limits on the driving
aids (if any) available to players.  I'm curious about the appeal of these
features to the r.a.s. gang; is it valuable to you guys to be able to
participate in a full multiplayer season, with the computer doing all of the
record keeping?  How important are things like being able to join in the
middle of a season, or to switch hosts?  Does anybody know what other games
have these features?

Thanks in advance for any feedback, and we'll have more information as soon
as possible.

Todd

I not sure about other sims, since i really can recall any of them beeing
able to ost a sheduled multiplayer-season. However, in my opinion it's
*vital* that one can atleast switch host during a season. I've raced in
numerous online-leagues and I can tell you people wont make every race. And
that includes the management or host too. Driver will get sick, have to
work, loose some relatives, etc. So to be able to switch host is in my
opinion a *must*!

This really also goes for the "joining mid-season" bit. Theres alway someone
(me included) that will sign-up for a league, do a couple of races and then
leave the whole thing. If no new driver are able to join in and fill up the
empty spots, all of a sudden the league might only consist of one or two
driver. (Now that might be good if you like to win :)

Just my 5 cents.

All the best,
Edwin Solheim

Hi Todd,

The multiplayer season sounds cool.  It should have a save feature though,
because we can't race for 500 hours straight ;)

If we can pick 3 races or so and control the number of laps which
would makeup a small season, it would be viable for internet usage.

Can't wait for a demo :)

Jason.

Why not tell something here, or supply some information on your webpages?

Does it have Under-2-liter cars? I have a 1970 yearbook and I see they also
raced cars like BMW 2002, Alfa GTA and Mini Cooper. Or did they drive in a
seperate race? They did however run for seperate points. Talking about
points: In Trans-Am they only collected points for the make. How is this
modelled? It could be great in a Multiplayer race to form a team with others
and see this in the points tables.
Do the Cars have different sounds? I can't emphasize enough how important a
good sound is in a racing sim. Of course a good driving model is the most
important, but you know what I mean.
What videocards are supported? I hope you do Rendition support
too.............
What are other Hardware specs? I know the Avault preview but now the game is
nearing completion, you can give a better estimation.
I have a AMD K6-2-300Mhz. Will this be enough to run in maximum frame
rate?(With a Thriller 8MB AGP and 64MB DIMM)

valuable to you guys to be able to
or to switch hosts?

I think these features will encourage in playing Multi-Player Seasons, at
least starting one.

Thanks,

Harald
