Question: ACT Force RS & NFS:PU

Is it me or does it seem like with the wheel/pedal combo that the
acceleration on the game seems SLOWER than with a joystick alone?  I
hope this isn't the case considering I just received my new
wheel/pedal set.

Thanks

Yup, I had the same exact problem.  The game is pretty fast with a joystick,
but with the FORCE-RS wheel it was very slow, and totally unplayable.  I
turned most graphics settings off, but that didn't help at all.  I had to
pay $40 to return the wheel & shifter to ACT-LABS for a refund.  Big
mistake, I'll never order anything that heavy through mail order again!

They say that it's due to quirks in Win95.  But, their web site makes no
mention of any difficulties with Win95.  You have to find that out AFTER you
order their wheel.  That's fine if their wheel doesn't work well with Win95,
but they should at least come out and say it.

I was running it with NASCAR-3.  So for now I'm back to using the joystick.
Maybe I'll try to find a cheap wheel at a local store that I can return for
FREE if it doesn't work!

Good luck.

Gents...

Were these Act Lab problems on the Force Feedback?  Or non-force?  I was
just going to order the non-force feedback set.  But I'll wait to see what
your answer is.

ram,Win95b,DX7a,serial port with no problems. The Act Labs site mentioned the
problems with Win 95 and DX7,but DX7a cleared things up.FWIW,I love my Force
RS,plus the shifter even in sequential mode is excellent. What are your system
spec's?

I'm using Win98 with DX7.0a and the latest Act Labs drivers.  I get
great acceleration.
