You heard wrong. No CART sims are forthcoming that I know of, but we
will definitely something that features Indy-style cars in the near
future:

Not so cheesy, actually -- some die-hard ICR2 fans have actually
stated that they found this game (which was actually titled "ABC Indy
Racing: The Road To Indy") to be superior to ICR2 in some ways (the
cars can actually get airborne to a certain extent, which indicates
some sophistication in the physics modeling area). The sim
overpowered the machines and video cards at the time; D3D was just
arriving, as were the cards that supported it. It had the same
problems as GP2 did in the hardware area, in fact; on a modern 300 MHz
machine with a good video card and the steering tweak utility, the
sim's actually pretty fun.

>>Why not have one track in different eras. Such as:
>>1911-challenge Ray Harroun
>>1919-the Birckyard after the war
>>1940-Indy during the Depression
>>1946-Hulman takes over
>>1965-Indy in tye-dye
>>1986-IMS turns 75
>>1995-the last true 500
>>And have cars race in their respective eras. Now I would buy that!

And as for Tony George, I plan on trying to find whoever put the curse on the
Kennedys. Whoever it was who struck that family could be very helpful in
resolving the CART IRL split. Again, I can dream can't I?
