NFS - Realism ?

This game makes me want to rid myself of my real
life NSX.  Given the NSX is short on low-end power,
but in NFS, it is lacking in high-end power as well.
I can't outrun anything in the NSX.

This is evident on head to heads with the Porsche.
At least the NSX is more steady around the curves.  The
Porsche is tail-happy, as it would be.  I can't even
out-power the RX7.  What gives ?

EA, at least make the NSX superior around the curves as
it should be!

BTW, how do I simulate popping the clutch during startup.
I'm always out-accelerated in 1st gear regardless of
     the car.

Thanks and Happy motoring. ...Ritch.

Its the sweetest sounding car in the whole pack .. in my opinion.
Taching it up, down shifting off throttle sounds the best with the
NSX.. so I guess EA did a good job simulating the VTEC harmony.

Like its says in the manual , that they use real data to
constract exact physical model of each car.

This only explains that NSX SUCKS in real life too.
and for $80,000 its a waste of money.
$80,000 you can by ZR1 or Porshe, that will eat your NSX on the
track.  The only good thing in NSX is the breaks, but i use
them rarely in the game, i use downshifting to lower gear to
slow down my car.

True but that's life.  Most of the reviews, local and abroad says that
the NSX do not spec well.  But when you drive it, it will shine...

The Porsche fishtails all over the track where all other cars stay true.
In real life, a non-pro driver in the NSX should beat the non-pro driver in
the 911.  The 911 is competent only in the hands of an experienced 911 driver.
Even the '95 models.

And the ZR1, I've never even tried it and probably never will.  It is not
even technologically comparable.  Like the Viper, it is a use of hp, torque
and engine size to rumble one's heart.

Uhmm... just an observation: I realize that the ZR-1's LT-5 engine is
350cid, but it is quite a high-tech piece of machinery. Regardless of
cubic inches, a 32 valve DOHC engine sounds quite "technologically
comparable" to an NSX to me. Actually, it sounds perfect... cubic inches
and technology together. Now, if the price factor wasn't such a problem...

You call a car with a fuel injected 5.7 liter, 32 valve Lotus
designed small block V-8, IndyCar/F1 design suspension, Delco ASR
traction control, BOSCH ABS IIU, Goodyear Eagle GS-C ***, and a
Delco/Bose Gold Series AM/FM Stereo with CD Player and Tape player with
200 watts of power and 6 bose speakers, for only $65,000, not even
technologicly comparable??  Hmmm.  Ok, if THAT doesn't get your heart
pounding, wait until the '97s come out. :)

When the yellow lights come on, floor it in neutral.  Then as soon
as the green comes on pop it in first gear.  You should get some
wheel spin but this keeps the RPM's up and accelerates better.
Try it and let me know if this helps!

Technology DOESN'T make a good driving experience. Try the ZR-1 or the Viper and then hop out
and take to the road in a Renault Clio Williams or a Lancia Delta Integrale. Both MUCH smaller
cars. The Clio is "only" a 2 litre engine, one QUARTER of the Viper ; "only" 150hp, again around
one quarter of the viper and 0-60 time is 2 seconds slower but it is a FAR more rewarding car to
drive. If you are the type of driver who judges "driving" by simply planting your right boot and
allowing a huge engine and traction control gizmos to drive the car for you, the Viper is
probably best for you. If on the other hand you quite like to drive the car yourself :) , either
of these two smaller cars (and a host of others I could mention) are ultimately much more
enjoyable driving machines than the Viper or ZR-1.

Big engine and technological gizmos = American
Technological gizmos and turbos = Japanese
Give the car some soul, make it a rewarding experience to drive.

Actually, the technological advantages that I was referring to is not
really quantifiable via mere descriptions.  You would, however, know
what I mean if you come out of a ZR1 and hop into an NSX.  But then,
you may disagree due to preferences.  But you would at least agree
that you are more drained driving a ZR1 or Viper with it's horrid
handling through windy roads for a couple of hours than you would in
an NSX.  Of course, not reflected (reflectable?) in NFS.

BTW, check the specs for the NSX.  Word is that Honda is losing $ on
every NSX it sells.  Perhaps, reason for the price bump from $60k to
$85k with hardly any change.

Happy Motoring.
Still waiting for the ultimate auto racing sim game Ritch.

Yes, the NSX seems extremely toned down in NFS; virtually useless.
The handling is a bit more neutral than the others, but what happened
to the TORQUE??  Sheesh!

To pop the clutch, lay on the gas when the screen comes up.  The
engine will tach out, then pop it into 1st when it gives you the
green.  You'll lay a nice strip of ***.  Keep racing!
