to drive somewhat consistently plan on getting involved in VROC racing
online.
Got GPL installed, including the v1.2 update & d3d patch on a 933MHz PIII,
256MB ram, 32MB Annihilator2 video w/Creative drivers, SBLive! w/MP3 + 5.1
sound & using a Guillemot Ferrari FFB wheel & pedals setup - but I've only
been able to get in 2-3 laps of practice, then get a VxD Blue Screen of
Death. This only happens running GPL. Plan on going to Detonator drivers -
have already gone thru the nighmare of clearing my system of old ATI
drivers - but have a feeling the problem may be caused by the SBLive! for
some reason.
Have spent quite a bit of time browsing the GPL related websites & seem to
recall reading about a reason for this happening in GPL, along with a
work-around or fix - but can't remember where. Does anyone know the
solution for this problem, or perhaps be able to direct me to the GPL guru
who could help in solving it?
D/L'd Eagle Woman's X-files car setups hoping they might help me get "up to
speed" quicker & noted one for Elkhart Lake. I raced open wheel Formula Vee
& Formula B [poor man's = to today's Skip Barber class] cars in the SCCA
during the late 60's - early 70's & ran at Elkhart Lake many times. Where
can I D/L this track? Perhaps I can "get in the groove" of GPL racing
quicker since I'm familiar with the course!
