I've been a member there for years and have never seen any spyware.

Never noticed that, probably due to the fact I'm running Firefox on
Linux with noscript and adblock. The first thing you want to do on
frugalsworld is disable signuature displays in the forum,
though. Looks like folks over there like their sigs as large or larger
than their egos ;-)

All the best,

Uwe

It's not the site.  It's certain adverti***ts.  Be careful.

Yep, that's what I use too. Cuts way back on the signal to noise ratio
on web sites.

Very interesting Arne! :-)

If anyone reading this thread hasn't looked at EECH (Enemy Engaged:
Comanche v Hokum) it's one of the best attempts to combine simulation and
decent gameplay. And Arne's still doing brilliant work modding it. The
SimHQ EECH section is a good place to read up on what's going on.

There's a demo available (which can be heavily modded) from here...
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
The last two links still seem to work.

Andrew McP... wondering why this group has more flight sim chat in it
than the flight sim group :-)

I have been following the flight sim group from right around the time
Falcon 4 was released, and have been wondering the same thing!

Maybe combine the two groups?

Fighter Sim Group?

A while back I bought that combo pack that has LOMAC, Pacific
Fighters, and IL2.  Not bad for $20!  I installed Pacific Fighters and
LOMAC over the weekend.

Never flew LOMAC before.  I might be able to get into it.  The A-10
has always intrigued me, and it looks to be well done in this sim.

PF was disappointing because it doesn't support TH2Go display modes.
That's a deal breaker for me.  I also found that F4AF won't do triple
screen.

Will IL2 do triple screen?

The thing that got me thinking about flight sims again is that show on
the history channel where they re-create air battles using computer
animation/simulation.  It's awesome!   Even my wife got interested in
it  :)  Anybody seen that show?

Problem is, ARCA should be arriving any minute.  This flight sim lark
may be short lived :)

IL-2 and PF use the same game engine so the answer is no. Those games do
support wide screen resolutions though if you change a couple of
settings in the conf.ini file.

Edit the conf.ini file in the root directory as follows:

[window]
width=1680
height=1050
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=0
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=1
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0
