F1RC demo and split axis - any success?

For me F1RC gives more warning through the physics that adhesion is being
lost than either GP3 or F1CS. Also I thought the wheelspin feedback was well
done (it will only be truly apparent one the traction control is fully off).
I guess it is all down to preferences.

For sure the garage option is not there. I am pulling 200mph just before
lifting for Eau Rouge and 202 at the end of the following straight. I am
sure it could go faster but not overly constrained by a high downforce/low
geared setup.

That's the way I feel too. It's just the engine and collision sounds
(somewhat) that bother me. It could be there is a problem with the way the
demo is working with Jan's sound card.

I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what sound has to do with whether a game
is a good sim or not.  Who really cares about sound?  Give me an engine
sound remotely close to an F1 to let me know when someone's near, and that's
about all I want or need in the sound department.

Now graphics.  Make the tracks as realistic as possible, give me fair
graphics and a good physical model, and I'm happy.  To me sound and graphics
are of secondary importance when it comes to judging the worth of a racing
sim.

I'll disagree with that over-simplification.  Sound is very important, it's
one of the 3 feedback you get when driving racing simulations (with visual
and FF).  It is extremely important, as much as the other to have quality
sound.  It is one of the most neglicted aspect of racing simulations.
Looping an engine sound won't cut it in 2001.

Only few succeed, and it's a shame.

I have that, the pedals work fine with my lwff in other games, just
not in F1RC.. it just doesn't see my pedals when I press them while
calibrating :(
