I think if in app.ini you switch the windowDepth= parameter to something
incorrect, that forces a re-recognition as well. Or maybe simply deleting
rend_ogl.ini?

Does the kyro card do OGL? I've seen post on the N2K2 boards that people
with kyro's can't use OGL and the game is now unplayable in D3D after the
patch.

Hmm..I just ran the patched version on an AMD 1.46ghz w/Radeon 8500 and I'm
getting 40-60fps in D3D at Daytona with AI cars. That's good enough for me.
I don't use FSAA and my res is set to 1024x768 16bit.

of days) is that xp already has what xp needs....oh well....

thnx for the responses guys..... i may work a couple extra days this month
and get a real card.... this will be kind of hard for a slacker/thoreau type

dood..... try using different drivers with the new patch 23.11s seem to work best. also dont replace the ogl.dll file!!!! Thats the
file they fixed so ogl will be supported!! delete the rend_ogl.INI file instead and then reconfigure the graphics and also remember
when you re install anything you need to do things like turn off anti ailiasing, and turn off VSYNC etc........Get NVMAX to setup
that stuff up....

Yes, that's normal for Kyro II cards unfortunately.  I've been asking for a
better support of the card inside NR2002.

It's impossible to configure OGL, but it was possible in the demo!  They
changed something, it seems.  Even in D3D is almost impossible, the whole
thing is very unsteady and hazardous.  I had to import the setup utility
from the demo, tweak with the settings and import them.  NR2002 has yet to
actually setup my video card configuration, it's all forced manually for me
:-(
