:>If you need a speedometer to race GPL, your going about it all wrong, it's
:>not about numbers, it's about feeling. Being able to tell if your going to
:>fast into a corner, with just the feel of the car. Besides, why would you
:>want to look away from the road when you need to look at it the most?
:>

: Ok, Jalo -
: How do you GET that feeling, while staring at a 15" monitor, and using a non-ff
: wheel?  And you can *usually* read a speedo with peripheral vision(a digital
: one, anyway).

I have to say, if I had a speedo, I bet I'd be able to judge when I'd
got a good corner exit a lot better.  I mean "hmm 105 mph as a I pass
that bush" is a little more accurate than "hmm seems kinda fast as I pass
that bush" - I KNOW you can do it on the replay but it'd be nice when
you were driving too.

I just look at my tach when going past the bush. ;)
If it's one tick higher then I got a good run out of a corner.

Try this.. Take a setup and adjust your rear roll bar all the way up
and do a lap.  Then adjust it all the way down and do another lap.  Now
tell us what the effects are.  If you couldn't tell the difference, then
you are over driving the car and nothing you do will help you.

Do the same with the other settings, all the way up, do a lap, all the
way down, do a lap. ect..ect..  If you do end up feeling a difference,
you'll start to understand what does what as well as start to "feel" the
car.  If you don't "feel" any difference, then again, you're over
driving it and that would be why you can't "feel" the car.

Change only one thing at a time and make that change as drastic as you
can.:)

Hmmm... I judge it by "gear change points" along the track. Always rev
to the same readout and see where on the track I am.
For example, can I get into 5:th gear _before_ the finish line at
Monza.
