That's what I did now and it works. I run N23dfx under Dos 6.22 now
('cause seems to be faster as in Dos 7.0) with the batchlines
described in this group:
SET FX_GLIDE_SWAPINTERVAL=0
SET SST_FASTMEM=1
SET SST_FASTPCIRD=1
SET SST_SWAP_EN_WAIT_ON_VSYNC=0
SET SST_VIDEO_24BPP=1
SET SST_SCREENREFRESH=85
SET SST_RGAMMA=1.30
SET SST_GGAMMA=1.30
SET SST_BGAMMA=1.30
SET SST_GRXCLK=57
SET N2FXAA=2
SET N2FXFOG=0.01
SET N2FXFOGCOLOR=0xa8a8a8
SET N2FXLOAD=200000
NAS3DFX.EXE -3DFX
and :
shell=c:\dos\command.com /p /e:1024
in config.sys
But it seems to be not as fast as on my old Cardex ET6000 with 2,5 MB.
My system is a 32MB 200Mhz overclocked to 225MHz.
With the ET 6000 I run everything on, except people, infield and fence
on auto and get framerates between 28 and 30, 39 opponents ahead and 5
behind.
With the DM3DFX, running from Dos 6.22 I have the same settings,
except framerates between 23 and 25, and everything is on when I
passed about 10 cars from back of the field, all inCar view.
Looks to me as if the game runs faster, when it is set to 23 to 25
frames, when I set 28 to 30 frames, it is quite bad.
Someone knows other ways to improve farmerate, except buying a
rendition card?
Someone played around with the n2fxload=xxxxxx command?
Is 200000 really the best setting for the monster3d?
Regards, Marcus.
