Ofcourse not. Was there any way I could have? Please let me know! :-)

Great! First time I hear this, but it's great!

I know.

I don't expect to learn in a whiff. I've been in the GP2-trackediting
business for almost 2 years now, and still learn each day as new
posibilities become uncovered. You can be sure I do not underestimate the
amount of effort it takes to make a good track. Have a look at my
GP2-tracks, and you'll understand.

I'm glad you corrected my ignorance regarding the future of GPL-editing.
Thanks!

Martijn

And that was the hardest part, IIRC. I hope you can perhaps shed some light
on how you did this, even a few text-lines?
Do you think a GP2=> GPL converter can be made (theoratically)?

OK, I can't wait to try my hand at the editor!

One question, can I have the editor? :-)

No, I was wondering while I knew Paul stopped because he had the feeling of
not making progess, and then you continue succesfully, so it didn't quite
add up.
Do you use a editor with a graphial interface, like Paul's?

Further, I would bother you as you have a track to finish!

PS one other question, what about Noonan?
And a final comment, you ARE a saint (IMO) when you release the editor for
public use :-)

Theoretically, yes, but I know nothing about GP2 files...

Won't be an editor- opens up too many cheating possibilites.  It'll be a
creator and probably won't work for the papy tracks without some major
changes to them.

Not yet.  When it's ready is my reply.  I don't release things in the
way Paul does (buggy development versions).  You'll have your fun when
it's possible :)

Only for making the TRK, and you can't have that yet.
TRK23DO is a black-screen program :)

In what context?  He made Dubai, Brands & Ostrichring.  Erm....

:D

Further to this I would add that  with all the chaff floating in the wind (A
new track every week to try and throw away), people will be missing the
whole point to this sim. The real challenge will no longer exist.

LOL...yes, too bad you weren't working your way through college with Graphical 3D Design as
your major...you could do your entire last year on Papy tracks...  ;]

Cheers!

> Wrong! It's Elvis!

Hey, Jan Kohl told me that he bumped into Geoff in a pub on one of his
trips to the UK, several beers was consumed and much about sim racing
was discussed, one thing led to another and Geoff, having just finished
GP2, asked if he could write some utils for "The Pits" under an assumed
name, he has been a big fan for a number of years apparently, no
surprise there really since it's the best sim racing site....

This is also why both GP3 and the upcoming converters has been taking so
long, he has been working too much on the new tracks

And just to hammer it down, have you ever seen Geoff and David together
?

Thought not, I saw Elvis the other day and he was much older than David
and knew nothing about computers....

Beers and cheers

Yeah, but have you ever seen Dave Kaemmer and Dave Noonan together? Or
the pair with Geoff? I think we have one person trying to do the work
of three....
