Anybody done much with Richmond and Pocono in an IndyCar?  I can qualify
no problem at these tracks (179.830 mph at Richmond) but so far nothing I
do can keep the RF tire from cooking in a few laps.  I'm on Firestones,
maybe that's an issue.

In general I've noticed that tire temps don't seem quite right all around
in the NASCAR tracks.  At Talladega I can run 254 mph *LAPS* with soft tires
on all corners and they barely get hot.  In a race I'd probably go with all
soft tires and I would be pitting on fuel, not tires.

I suspect all of these are slightly wrong and can be fixed by tweaking
the track.txt files.  Anybody?

A group of us from CompuServe have been working with Gerhard who made
the originals to correct all the current problems. All the new .TXT
values and AI files are currently completed bar one (I'm working on it,
honest!) and undergoing testing. Should be ready for release within a
week or two, most likely from, you've guessed it, The Pits (unless Jed
is collapsing under the weight of all that's going on!).

The new files are pretty damn good, and correct all of the grip, heat
and control problems of the originals as well as improving the AI. I'll
post something here when they're finished.

Cheers!
John
