ICR2 Fuel/Pitstop problem

by Alan Pengel » Fri, 01 Nov 1996 04:00:00

Hi All

I'm having a problem with ICR2 which I noticed last night for the
first time. I was working on a new setup and wanted to go into the
pits to stock up on fuel, but only wanted 10 gals. I called up the
pit comms fuel window and tried to adjust it from 40 to whatever.
The `40' was highlighted in yellow, but I couldn't adjust it. I've
been through the manual, down what it says, but no joy. Is this a
known bug? I can't believe it is since I've patched the sim with both
patches. It's really aggravating :-(.

Please help!

cheers

Alan

In ICR2 unlike ICR1 you CAN NOT, while on the track or in the pits, remove
fuel from the car (eg: there's 34g in the car, I now want 15g). If you
want less fuel that what currently is in the tank, this has to be done in
the garage.

Well, first of all, was your car sitting at 40 gallons when you tried to
adjust? You can only bring the nuber of gallons down from 40 to what you
currently have in your car. Let's say, I had 22 gallons and adjusted from
40. I can get 22 gallons on my next stop, but no less, because you can onlu
ADD fuel, and not take fuel out.

I had a simular problem but I understand what it does..

I was racing along and decided that to finish the race I only needed
15 gals on my last pit stop.  Since at that moment I had more than 15
in the car at the time I had to wait until the car was under the 15
gals. to switch it.

I don't think it is a bug.
It's more like a "reality" feature not included.

If I want only 15 gals in the car but pit while I have 20, then
the crew simply doesn't add any, and I leave with the 20.

But I should still be able to tell the crew what I want.
It's up to them to figure out if there is anything they can do for me.

The work around is to wait until the crew understands you request.
