Which downloads are essential for SCGT? I have seen several articles
that say once you have all the right stuff downloaded and patched it is
a much
     better game.

http://www.racesimcentral.net/***.com/ has all the downloads but doens't
give any advice on this subject. Please reply to

     Thanks,

1. Upgrade to version 1.551
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***.com/downloads/upgrades/1551patch.shtml
2. Installing the patch takes some manual intervention
    - Put the scene.mas and the osc file in DAT folder
    - Put the alt*.mas files in the MAS folder
    - Put the exe file in the main folder.
3. Install the Advanced Options patch
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***.com/downloads/editors/advopt.shtml
    - Just extract to your SCGT folder and run the program.  Choose Pure
Simulation / Slick Grass / Original and press OK
    - You need to rerun this program if you install any new cars.
4. Install your favorite sound pack.  Try Rrevved's
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***.com/downloads/fixes/rrevsounds.shtml
5. Get ReadMas 2.0 to fix the "Brad's Track" problem
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***.com/downloads/editors/readmas2.shtml
    - To remove Brad's track, open the DAT/scene.mas file with ReadMas2.0.
Search for the RACE.SCN file.
Right Click the file and choose DELETE.  Press Save or OK or whatever
is needed to exit and save the changes.

Oh yeah, don't bother downloading new cars if you have not installed
*everything* to your HD (200+ mb installation)

Jason.

The 1.55 patch, Rrevveds soundpack, and then dashes for the cars you
aim to drive.
