1st it gets rid of the super sticky grass that will suck your car off
the course if you so much at touch the stuff.
2nd, you can adjust the Physics a-bit to allow for a more simlike
feel, and change from standard, front or all wheel drive cars.(this will
be a must when the 2.0litre super touring cars come out.)
One note about the many many addon cars. Most of the car crafters
have tried to get the proper power and weight etc down to a pretty
reasonable accuracy. So if you say...dload the new Audi open top,
don't go piling extra turbos's, chips, exhausts etc on the cars. You
can take a tiny Porche 911 and with the proper mods it can blow the big
bad daddy Panoz away on the straights.
The ALMS patch especially tries for a consistent spreading of vehicle
performance.
Go to the GTIC site on gtinsider for a listing of power mods they
allow. Generally supsension and Aerodynamics and gearboxes for the LMP
cars are all they allow.
