Well, I've discovered a BIG difference, even at Tally.  My P90 recently got
sick, and I had to go back to my 486/50.  Going through the tri-oval is a new
experience... frame rate goes WAAAY down, and it's an effort to hit my
line(and NOT the wall)<g>
I had a VERY tough weekend... :(

I believe it, after having to use a slower machine.  It was a LOT harder to
control my car...
My apologies to those I wrecked :(

I don't know , but on Talledega I've qualified at over 200 and gotten pole
at 100% consistently on a 486SX-33.

Gee...That's real tough to do with the restrictor plate off (or the

I

I don't think so.  Currently I run Nascar on my home PC with just a
486-33 and just 4megs.  I had to really tweak it just to get in running
smoothly as you can imagine.  At my office, I can run on a P-133 with
16megs and a 2meg graphics card.  Any guesses where I run better?

Why?

Because Talladega is a large track, it takes a large chunk of memory to
draw.  It slows down on the slow PC.  And when it slows and gets
choppy, it doesn't matter how good a controller you have, you can't
make the minute judgements needed to run that perfect line. I can only
run Talladega at home against about 15-20 cars with 3 drawn in front.
And the start of the race is still so jumpy that it's almost impossible
unless I manager to qualify 1st.

Still, I'm a loyal fan and the work PC has made my experience so much
nice.  "uh yeah honey, it's been real busy at the office.  I have to
stay late again!"

Sorry, but I'll have to say: "Bullshit" to that one.

I'll eat my hat if you or anyone else can qualify at over 200 MPH at
Talledega with Nascar either 1.2 or 1.21 patches and with your
restrictor plates still on.

My guess is your either:
1. You're running without restrictor plates, OR
2. Running without the repaved track in the patches (I used to qualify
in high 190's with the original game before the patch), OR
3. You're lying out of your ass, OR
4. All of the above

Hey man...you have a steering wheel at the OFFICE?  Coooool...!!!

Where I work, I'd be on my ass on the sidewalk quicker than you can
say, "F1GP2's been delayed again... "  That's why MY P133 is at HOME.

I didn't say that!  But I probably could.  it's not like I play while
I'm working.  Nope.  I'm a joystick jockey.

The office can afford the P133.  I can't rigt now.  oh well.
