Hey Gang:

As a sometime GPL driver (and most-time GPL destroyer of millions of dollars
in virtual classics), but racing cyclist and triathlete in my "real-life"
racing, I frequent the web site http://www.racesimcentral.net/ from time to time
to catch up on things - their photography is exceptional.

Anyway, while perusing the snaps tonight I noticed this image from a race in
Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, and recognized the corner immediately.  I had
to share it here - I know most of you will get it right away:

I mean, has there EVER been a race at Mosport that was dry?  :)

I tell you from experience, you think driving a race car in the rain is a
ballet of balance, you should try it on two wheels sometime!  The friction
circle is about the same size as a penny - before you think you're near the
limit, you're over it!

Hey Bob, nice piccies :)

One thing, I've downloaded a new sky for Mosport and there are all these
rocky mountains in the background. If you know the area is this so? Mind you
the guy that made the skies put mountains at Spa LOL Maybe he went moutain
biking in Belgium ROFL

LOL absolutely not.  Those mountains are about 5,000km away.   Just right
next to the Niagara falls <G>

And this is the cyclist interpretation of my typical Mosport GPL experience:

Great pics!  :-)

I used to be heavily into road racing and triathlons, but now do more of my
racing on dirt.  To me, the current fully-suspended mountain bikes are
closest to the WRC cars of the motorsports world: they make grip where you
think there will and should be none, they have heroic brakes, and they
swallow up huge hits without a blink.  Getting back on my road bike is, as
you implied, like getting into a '67 F1 car: no grip, pathetic brakes, but a
pure, stripped down, no-nonsense machine.

Stephen
(hey, I even won a race once in a while in real life, which is more than I
can say for GPL!)
