I would realy like the facility to quickly restart the race similar to the
<SHIFT/R> in Indycar Racing.
It is really annoying to have to keep ploughing through menus to reload the
game.
For the number of times I have been involved in first corner incidents,
this feature would have been really useful.
I know it isn't really entering into the spirit of the game, but what does
everyone else think?

I do not care for software programs that insist on being "cruel and
unusual" to the user.  GP2's menuing system is such an animal.  It would
not be half as bad if I didn't have to wait for some pretty picture to
load before I get to the menu.  But, it would still be a pain to
navigate.  I know that this is probabily Geoff's "artistic license" at
work, but I still don't care for it.  User interfaces should be designed
for the user, not the creator!

Why do I need a menu page to tell me that the game loaded?  We really
only need to know that an error occured and the game couldn't be loaded.

Why do I need a menu page to tell me that I loaded a game/race for
Italy?  I selected the file to load.

Why can't we just jump back to the Main Menu from any menu level?

Program user interfaces for the user!  Save your artistic flairs for the
artistic parts of the program.

[This soapbox is now avialable....]

? Ya, Geoff needs to rethink (or get some other people to think) the
? interface. It is pretty enough, just tedious.

I like the idea of having a shortcut console-type system.

I find that different tracks require different frame-rates so it
would be useful to be able to pause during a race, jump straight
to the "Graphics Detail" menu, change the settings then return
to the race.

Quake has such a system which is very useful.

Cheers,

        Liam.

Also, the defaults being "No" for so many of the menus means you have
to pause when trying to quit or abandon a race. Gets on my nerves.
Having to go back to in to car after quiting Car Setup in a Practice
irritates me; sometimes I just go in to just undo something that I
tried, and want to quit, or wanted to view some data. Takes my slow
computer about 20 seconds to get back in the car to quit.

Ya, Geoff needs to rethink (or get some other people to think) the
interface. It is pretty enough, just tedious.
