Advanced options and SCGT

I heard somewhere that this new "option file" caused a lot of problems
to people's pc. Is it true that I can cause damage such as loss of all
sound? I tried to install it the other day. The install program tells me
that it will install shared files (dll) and those files can cause
problems. Is this the case?

No. The sound problems are in the game not the (PC) system and are caused by
a file conflict between the GT1 sound patch and the Advanced Options editor.
Install the Options editor but not the sound patch and there should be no
problems.

I think the major problem is that folks do not read the README file. You
see, if you use PKunZip, you need to use the -D option, or if using WinZip
you must use the save directory info option. Reason being is that the files
in the zip MUST go to certain subdirectories, not just the main SCGT
directory. For example, there are WAV files that need to go into the
subdirectory of SOUNDS/22HZ. If you just zip the files into the main SCGT
directory, you won't get the sounds then.
