NASCAR Racing 2 - Release Date (Official Papyrus word)

by adleves.. » Wed, 13 Nov 1996 04:00:00

Hi all,
As you all notice, I haven't been around the newsgroup for a while.
We've all been busting our butts trying to get NASCAR 2 out the door.  Our
original plan was to have the product on the shelves by Thanksgiving
weekend.  Unfortunately, we ran into some unexpected problems with
multiplayer (and a few other areas).  Sierra made the decision to hold the
product until it was complete.  A very good one in my opinion.  So, we are
now hoping to have the product on the shelves sometime in mid-December
(unless something else unexpected happens :)).  Sorry I haven't told you
all this sooner.  As I say, it's been pretty crazy around here.

Adam,
Thanks for the word!!! I have been pacing around the planet, just
waiting to jam on the tracks again. I love Nascar1, but i have to admit,
soon as i played the demo for Nascar2, I just don't play Nascar1 as
much. I am so fired up!!!!! Thank God we have a awesome company like
papyrus that makes such great racing sims as Icr racing, Icr2, and
Nascar!!!!! Much more than I can say for the Microprose sims, that just
plain SUCK!!!! in my opinion!!!! Nascar2 is just gonna plain ROCK!!!! I
have to admit though, that I will have to make a little phone call to
that Comp USA, just to kill the pain in my gut!!!!

Adam,
You know it's quite interesting that because of this letter you
posted a couple of us are getting our butts flamed all over the place,
you really should get this straightened out.  I bought the game Sunday
the 10th, at Comp Usa In Dayton, Ohio...   Here's their phone number
(937) 436 -5858...  Why don't you figure out how they have it when
your not done with it.  You know it's kind of funny that the guy
stocking the shelves with the IBM version of the game said and I quote
"We have had a couple of cases in the back room since Thursday, but
they said we couldn't put them out till the 10th"...  In the mean time
I will enjoy playing it on my IBM compatible with my Cyrix 686
processor.

Man, that's weird.  After all the rumors that have been floating
around the last couple of days,  I called Egghead Software here in
North Carolina and they said that they had 24 copies in between Sierra
and their warehouse.  What a crock of... well, you know.

I don't think there even is a 937 area code, Dayton is 513.

I can tell you emphatically that store does NOT have NASCAR Racing 2.
Maybe it's the repackaged NASCAR 1, maybe it's NASCAR for the Sony
Playstation, maybe it's NASCAR 1 for the MAC.  It is not NASCAR Racing 2
for the PC.  I am the Producer of that project and I can tell you, we have
not gone Gold yet.

LOL...Hilarious.

There is no 937 area code. Phoney baloney.

And I like the unsolicited plug for his Cyrix 686..like that's
supposed to be necessary for the purchase of NCR2.
