3rd AGAIN!!!! FFord at Silverstone...

Well, what fun! :-) After a dismal qualifying session when I ran wide onto the
bumpy grass (thanks to GPL for not letting me spin around) I ended up 4th on
the grid :-(

For the race I got a great start, was momentarily in 3rd until I made my steady
way around the first turn. I stayed 4th for a few laps then re-took 3rd!

Then I don't know what happend. My car went away from me and the balence in the
esses was horrific! I dropped to 5th! 5th! Ugh...

So I really took the 'bull by the horns' and chased the top 4 (we were all
rather close) when the guy in 2nd spun at Turn 2. We lucky all managed to get
by without contact (it was close, closer than PJ Jones(?) on lap 2 at Milwaukee
:o) So I was in 4th again. I was closing up again to 3rd and I was really
looking to get a pass on him, but the yellows were out. The guys ahead didn't
really slow down, I did and that pis*ed me off little, but I didn't complain.

Not to matter, after messing around in a comfortable 4th, with GPL-style
opposite lock and really hamming it up for the cameras (yep, there was a camera
man there!! :) the guy in 3rd lost it on the last lap. Thankyou very much, I'll
take that; my 3rd consecutive finish... in 3rd :)

Oh what a lovely game we all enjoy! Next round is a week after the British GP.

Oh, I don't know! Does anyone actually read these sig's anyway!?

No, not quite. I'm racing in the Jim Russell Goldline Bearings FFord
championship. It's a lot less cheaper than the national "Slick 50" FFord
championship.

I still have to work my ass off to get the money for each race, tho :-)

Hi Rob,

Congrats on the most recent 3rd place finish.  I was wondering if UK
has what we across the pond call regional club racing.  I race an 84
Van Diemen over here.  I'll be in Europe next summer and would like
to do a one off race and some of the famous tracks (Brands Hatch,
Donnington in UK).  Do you know if that's possible and if so what I
require other than $.  Thanks in advance and good luck at the next
round of the Championship.

Cheers,

Al
