Momo racing wheel not working on PS2

by V \ » Sun, 30 May 2004 05:00:34

I have the black Momo racing wheel and I tried hooking it up to my PS2 again
last night and it still doesn't work. I tried in the past but recently have
received new info here of late. I tried what was suggested with no results.I
tried detaching the controllers and then leaving them in.......every time I
go to the calibration and button assignment section, it keeps telling me to
plug it in...............it is!!!! All button assignments are greyed out and
I cannot access them with or for the wheel. Does this wheel not work unless
it is the red one?? Any ideas............ANYONE ??    Swervo was helping,
but the other thread seems to have died before I could figure it out or
throw my arms up in anguish.

IIRC they were speaking of the Momo Force which is a different wheel.  I
dont have (or want) any consoles so I cant try it for ya.

Well then.............that may explain why it doesn't work. If it doesn't,
no biggie, just prefer the whole wheel driving than button driving.

This could be a stupid suggestion but... Have you tried both USB ports?
I remember having some trouble with my Momo, but I have the original
red one.  I was able to get it to work, but was never comfortable with
it and and GT3.  Something never seemd 100% perfect.

Sorry, I've been sorta off USENET for a couple of days.

Like the poster before mentioned, I've only tested this with the Logi
MOMO Force, the one with the red base.

Ahh, and a quick Google search turned up this (most of the thread is
useless, but the last post is pretty much the important part):

http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/t-38913.html

"The red MOMO Force works with GT3 & GTC

The black MOMO racing does not work with any of the GT games."

Sorry :(

BTW, the steering wheel support in GT is definitely not as good as any
decent PC sim, unfortunately.   It's a little more fun, but I can almost
guarantee that your lap times would suffer.

Ah well. Guess I'll just learn to cope, after a few months of therapy that
is. Damned Best Buy all to hell for putting the black wheel on sale....DAMN
THEM !!!!!!       heheheee......done ranting, now back to our regularily
scheduled programming.
