Using Univbe with Matrox Millenia

When I first loaded Nascar2 with the Univbe drivers I was a little
dissapointed at the frame rate I was getting.(noticeable choppiness).
 Anyway, I unistalled the drivers and it seems that the frame rate has
improved. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me.
I am running:
P150
Matrox Mill 2MB (latest bios and drivers)
32MB ram

 Yes, I have learned that Univbe slightly degrades the performance of the
Millennium. I tested it with Quake and found slightly better framerates
without Univbe. The Millennium has Vesa 2 built in so its not needed.
