Ive Had the game for a day now, and It has lived up to the hype,
but there are things I would has liked to see.

The install was simple - although it told me that I did'nt have enough

extended memory, and on one machine couldn't look up the
sound card - but worked anyway.

The intro and music is good, and it doesn't take long to load.
I've installed onto two machines - a DX280 and a Pentium 100

The DX280 can go to svga with minimum detail, its a bit jumpy
but is playable, vga with most detail is the best though
anything less is f1gp look alike !

The pentium is working with SVGA , minimal mirror detail, but
everything else high .

The first thing to hit you is the complex menus, and the new views,
especially the director mode.
The smoke from the tyres are a great touch also.

One early reviewer did say that he was black flagged. Although
the exellent manual does mention all flags, Ive tried hard to get a
black flag, but it doesn't seem to be implemented which is a shame.

The first quick race I did had a car in front with flames coming from
the engine and black smoke. This was great, and also more mechanical
breakdowns happen.  The AI cars only seem to pit if your doing a
longish race.  The AI is good, as cars try to avoid you if you break
hard, and try to stop you getting past.

The feel of the game hasn't been spoilt, the cars handle better than
f1gp, and it does seem harder to catch and overtake cars, making
set ups more important.

Well worth 33.00  Well done Geoff

You do get a black flag for cutting across some chicanes.  But this only
results in ten seconds without your engine - no stop go in the pits.  This
is a pity because it knocks the realism on the head for a while.

Cool!!

Hi ! Mee too (see below)

Run flawlessly on mine (16MB no EMM386 in CONFIG.SYS - I think the
program - which makes use of the DOS Extender - can manage the
EMM-XMS by itself).

Yup ! I like the elec. guitars theme even if, after a bit, it gets
a little annoying (sp?) but if I remember well there are some
themes played during the game (I mean, when you interact with the
menus or setup).

Same as you with A P150.

I would have preferred a pull-down menu.

Agreed.

Try to cut a chicane by not breaking before and you'll get the black
flag. I think someone in r.a.s. mentionned that when you get a black
flag your speed is reduced for a while but then you're returned to
full power. However, I cannot comment on this since I didn't manage
to get one (yet).

During my first quick race I managed to disintegrate the rear spoiler
of the preceding car; it went literally in pieces alongside the
track. Great effect !

One thing I'd like to add; I do LOVE watching a whole race by using
the "director" mode (even in VGA to get full details and good frame
rate) but I would have liked to see the gap between the cars
depicted on the screen when the "targeted" one crosses the finish/pit
line, like the info depicted on the TV when you watch the real
competition. This would have added a bit of realism to an already
excellent game.

Best,
Roberto
