It should ALREADY be sub 400.  When does it update?

Chassis Rank updates midnight Eastern, but I think you need to visit that
page for the MonsterRank to be updated...

Actually the main reason I would like a save facility is that I am sick of
racing for 1-1.5 hours before a computer opponent crashes into me. Before
you say I am a useless driver I find most of the crashes occur under brakes
(i.e. they crash into the back of me), or when watching the replay they
change line when I am right beside them.
  Or maybe I am useless...

The short answer is they just chose not to put a savegame feature in GPL.
Why(or how) they made that choice hasn't been explained officially.  But per
your last answer - you'd perfer to save and exit the game to answer the phone,
rather than just hit pause?

I would if I had to either refer to or make a note in my calender (or any
other resource) which resides on the same PC.

Doesn't bother me much as I do very little offline racing and when I'm
racing online I just don't answer the phone/door/whatever. ;-)

But having a savegame feature wouldn't stop the crashes.  What do you want to
do, save every so often, and re-load in case of a crash?  That's cheating... :)
I agree that a savegame should be in there - I just don't agree with your
REASON...

Opportunity knocked on Jan's door last night, but he was trying to pass
Eldred in the braking zone before Tarzanbocht... :-)

If that were really the case, wouldn't opportunity have already knocked,
with me answering?

It may not stop the crashes, Eldred, but it would at least give me another
chance to get past the lapped driver. :))
Yes, I suppose that is cheating, but only because of bad AI in GPL. Just
shows you how bad the AI in other games/sims are, as I would rate GPL as
having the best AI of any race simulation.

Didn't say necessarily exit the game.  I would like to have the choice
though.  There are lots of reasons why it's not possible to complete a full
race, and doing a smaller number of laps is not really the same.
I really wish that Papy had put in the save facility.

In both cases, press pause.

Can we stop beating a dead horse?

That's racing.  Deal with it.  There's no difference between getting wrecked
on the first, 50th or last lap.  It happens because it's racing.
