F1RS: What min speed CPU ? What is min video card ?

by Mike Ree » Fri, 27 Mar 1998 04:00:00

I've heard lots of good things about Ubisoft's F1RS game.  I want to buy
a copy but am not sure if my hardware is adequate ?

Cyrix PR166+
64 MB RAM
24X CD
Trident 9680 chipset 2MB PCI video card ( a cheapie, only $25).

I bought TD4 - and found it to perform terribly, at leadt on my PC.
Them bought Sierra's CART Racing, which runs pretty good.
Hoping that F1RS is even better ???

Thanks,

Mike

You need a minimum of *4Mb* graphics card that supports direct3D, and
ideally you want a 3Dfx card. 166 cpu should run it ok, but you may
need to turn down some of the graphics options, 64Mb ram is plenty,
and 24xcd is also plenty. Ideally to get the best from f1rs you really
 need a 3Dfx card and a 200+ speed cpu.
