Oval Converter......N2N4TEMP_INI

by Edward Whit » Thu, 30 Dec 1999 04:00:00

Hi, I'm having some trouble converting some of the N3 tracks to
GPL...several tracks work fine, Tally, Bristol, some others, but I can't get
night c***te, Atlanta, or Michigan to work...towards the end of the
conversion process, I get a message "failed to find resource "N2N4TEMP_INI",
followed by "conversion finished". But when I try to run the track in GPL, I
get "cannot load track".....Any ideas? I've checked the paths, and, as I
said earlier, some tracks convert and run just fine...Mind you, I'm not
complaining, Mr. Noonan has been extremely generous to the GPL crowd with
his work, but if I'm doing something dumb to cause this, I'd like to get
past it and race Michigan.
Boring system specs follow:

blah,blah,blah
Thanks in advance,

I had that problem when I tried running the converter (oval2gpl.zip, 10 files in
the zip) from within Winzip. After I extracted all the converter files to a new
directory and ran the executable from there, the problem went away. So, make
sure you have all the files in the zip extracted to a single directory. Now I
have all the Nascar3 tracks available to GPL, without any of the N2N4TEMP_INI
errors you are getting.

Keith.
