Gents,

Just downloaded the fine Oval Track converter from Mr.Noonan
(excellent piece of coding...) Am I to assume this is a practice or
multiplayer only utility?

Being in Aus with slow modem access, online isn't really an option,
and would be sweet to hoon round these ovals with decent AI. They seem
to only be interested in setting the slowest lap records...

Any way to tweak the AI, or am I destined to oval alone?

Cheers,
Rod.

For the time being, these tracks are for MP only...

Thanks Goy,

Can I assume from your reply that AI is a chance in the future?

Just that racing these tracks are alot more fun alone in GPL than
alone in Nascar3. With the AI running them, they'd be very nice
indeed. ;)

Cheers,
Rod.

Never rule out anything Rod, but don't get your hopes up too high, I
seem to remember that David Noonan had some troubles with the AI at
these tracks, can't remember exactly what though, but there are always
some people who pick up where others left off, but for the time being, I
don't think David Noonan is putting time into the AI at these tracks

Holy cow Goy, if stupid circles are too difficult, I guess I can say
goodbye to good old Clermont Ferrand... ;))

Stupid circles are actually harder for the AI than 50-corner
Clermond-Ferrand. It is the banking that the AI cannot get used to. They
are too slow there anyway, so it's not worth the bother to make a great
line.

Clermond Ferrand is coming up fo GP2, but not for GPL. It is VERY tough to
drive, all those corners after another, you never get any rest. It's a bit
like a 8-km Nurburgring, but with tighter corners and less "straights".
Lots of height differences.

I was reading about the original Clermond Ferrand circuit and the drivers
view's about it. They all used to wear open-faced (in the UK biker community
they are called 'piss-pot') helmets as in GPL because the corners were so
wild they used to throw up on the straights. No joke.

I managed to chat to David Brabham at Paul Ricard & he chatted to me about
it. He reckoned his dad hated the circuit more than any and he only drove it
as a publicity thing in the early 1960's.

Love to see it in GPL Mr. Noonan, forget about the full Monza with the
banking, Clermond Ferrand is a bit of a challenge I wanna try.

Does anyone know a site with info (a map or pics,  whatever) about that
Clermont-ferrand track?

Thou shall bookmark and read everything at this website:

http://www.forix.com/

Make it your bible of Formula 1 from now on.  It's a GREAT track btw, I want
it for any sim, can't wait for the Gp2 version of it.

How about a 11+km Nuerburgring with a puzzling series of 17 corners, a
big height difference and a long straight?
The Solitude near Stuttgart was used till 1965 for F1 races and bike
GPs, and is now a public road (speed limited of course). I get to
drive it now and then, and a GPL version would be great.

Too bad I don't have GP2 in working state anymore, with PCI soundcard,
FF wheel and the like.

I somebody wants to build a Solitude track for any sim, I could
provide some "local" help.
