So I'm running in First place......yellow flag shows, I hop into the pits,
oops! Mistake! Oh well, now I'm in 10th or 15th place. Anyway, I'm catching
up to traffic when all of a sudden WHAM!!!! I'm smashed into pieces (Well,
damage turned off, I survived)!! I check the replay to see which bloke
slammed into me, and no one was there! I watch the replay again, and one
frame I'm running at 50mph, the next I'm over the wall in the grass, then the
next I'm on top of the two cars in front of me. Anybody know what happened?
Is this one of the magical "transporter" bugs? Kinda like the "down under"
scene I saw from Aussie? Watch the replay, it's interesting.

Happened to me too, right around the "tunnel" area.  I don't understand it
either.

This is what we in Papyrus call the "Hand Of God" bug...

Sometimes you get transported back to the start/finish line, sometime
you go way up into the air, sometime you go below the track. This
happens for 1 tick. On the next tick, you are back where you are
suppose to be, with all the laws of physics applied. (this is a bad
thing, since you car explodes!)

The "Hand-of-God" or HOG bug. Typically, your car jumps from some place on
the track to the start/finish line in one frame, then back again in the
next frame. The physics engine seems to take its cues from the position
change because at that point you're traveling at supersonic speeds and the
torque from the drive line blows the engine, your car smacks the nearest
immovable object and itty-bitty bits of fiberglass fly all over the track.

We had two of those in a Late Night league race on Hawaii the other night.
I hope they can fix this for NASCAR 2.

I e-mailed the replay to Charlie Heath of Papyrus, and he said they are
working on it for Nascar 2.
