No, I wasn't being sarcastic in the first reply. You may notice that I don't post as many
inflammatory messages about GPL or CPR as you do. It's a volume thing. I still get the
same ***that you do most of the time. People are passionate about their software. I
think that's cool. And when I think a lot of people are going overboard I may say
something. But I usually save my remarks for when they will benefit me. For instance, I
think N4 is a giant steaming turd. Now, I don't give a rats ass about circle jerks so why
mention it? But almost every time I've ragged GPL, I've gotten tons of tips that make it
better for me. Not all can be cured, but I have found much enjoyment from the input I've
gotten here, no matter what tone it was given in.

The second one was strictly sarcastic. I don't slap anyone's ass. Jocks are latent homos
and women deserve more respect than that.

Your comment "I simply go for less quantity" was a shot at me. It's wrong
too. Didn't bother me though. Pat apparently didn't understand why I
responded the way I did. BTW, you have posted a lot more inflammatory
messages about GPL than I have. I rarely enter into a GPL thread. Google
will prove it if you want to check. As for CPR, I've barely mentioned it in
years. You sound like Eldred now.

DGF stands corrected.  Hehe.  Some things never change.

CPR.  Damn, I really wanted to like it.  After re-installing
it several times over the years to see if my impression would
change, I just can't get into it.  It wasn't for lack of
effort.  I even created some tracks for CPR.  Honestly, even
today, RACER feels more finished than CPR.

Can you ever stop being a jerk?  Is this just fun for you,
to keep dragging things out?  You just won't stop.

I look forward to your response, but won't be replying.
At least not unless you say something really interesting,
which would be out of character.

[this should be good]

If you and Mark would stop being wrong, and accusing me of things that
aren't true, I wouldn't have to keep replying.

Understand?

This *may* be true.  AFAIR, most of your GPL slams appear in other

*Finally* I got my WSC....

Funny, upgrading had sort of the opposite effect for me, but we're talking
apples and oranges here, as I went from a wacked-out Toshiba PIII-500
notebook with a dodgy Savage graphics card to a 1GHz notebook with a mobile
GeForce2.  Being able to run GPL at a constant 36fps at 1280x1024, and with
track and car upgrades, really brought it alive for me.  I think the cars
are beautiful, and I love the way I can go wheel to wheel through three
corners. I'm a mech. engineer and dabble a lot with dynamic simulations
(other people's products, I'm no programmer sadly) and I really like the way
there is a cause and effect relationship for everything which happens in
GPL, from suspension motion to body motion etc.  It's not perfect, but no
simulation is.  In then end, it's the racing experience which keeps me
hooked to GPL, even more so now.  Oh, and the fact that I can take it on the
road with me with only 200Mb of disc space...

I loaded up all my old favourites like NFS:PU, Nascar Heat, SBK2000, various
rally sims, and was certainly impressed with the high framerates, lush
graphics etc., but in the end they were dull and were removed from my HD.

GP3-2000 was the big dissapointment for me, because it just won't run well
under Windows XP with the GeForce chip.  I like the OS too much to either
ditch it or have the hassle of a dual boot, so I guess I'll never know how
much better GP3 could be.  I loved it on my Toshiba.. guess I'll wait for
GP4 or a demo of F1-2001.

cheers
Stephen

Got it at a computer show at Gibraltar Trade Center some time back for
$6.  Felt ripped off even at that price.  :-P

In all fairness, the sound & the sensation of speed are top notch.
Controller feel sucked big time.  And the AI....... probably the most
disappointing aspect of all.
