Going back to GPL 1.0

Single Race, BrandsHatch, 11 Opponents, Graphics almost maxed out (mirrors
set to "cars") , sounds set at 5

GPL 1.1 frame rate using the Gpl 1.1 exe =25FPS max that varies downward
depnding on local action

Same as above except substituting my old original GPL 1.0 exe file = steady
36fps

Exchanging the rast3dfx.dll file for the original and back again had no
effect on either of the 2 situations above

Online racing is worse with constant warps and dissappearing opponents. I
tried joining in a race where all were using a standardized core.ini
Thanks for all your help, Eric Cote :) ) but despite all the hints and tips
of the host I was unable to acheive a playable connect.

Machine: Celeron 433 on ASUS P2-99 motherboard with Intel zx chipset, 128
meg pc100 SDRAM, cl Banshee 16 meg PCI video, Diamond Monster soundcard,

Sure hope i can find some other people that want to play 1.0 online

David,

GPL has made no discernible difference to my frame rate (Hercules Thriller
though). And I've had solid connects on-line, as long as everyone was using
the sample core.ini without modifications. Hopefully we can get this
core.ini thing worked out, and all will be well with the world again. I
assume they put some thought into the settings that are there, and we should
probably try those before everyone runs off changing them at random.

I believe VROC 2 sets everything anyway, and it connects automatically once
you select a race. Quite cool. The new GSB will work the same I think.

You aren't the only one reporting a frame rate hit, and hopefully we can get
that sorted too. I want force feedback!

I'm in. I don't care about your ride height. If it's allowable in the game
and you beat me then you're faster. I'll have to practice. You'll see me on
GSB2.
