ICR2 DOS to Windows95????

ICR2 DOS to Windows95????

by Michael Tra » Mon, 02 Mar 1998 04:00:00

I am trying to install my old ICR2 (v.1.0 upgraded
via ICR100_2.exe patch to v.1.2) on a fairly new
'puter.  I changed the sound settings to the same
settings that work for N2, but no luck (no sound)
in DOS.  So if anyone can steer me to a patch
that will allow me to run in Windows95 (which I
hope will solve the problem), I would greatly
appreciate it.  Thanks in advance!

There is a patch on Sierra's web site to upgrade a FULL (not CD-ROM)
installation of ICR2 to the Win95 version. Don't have the name of the file at
the moment, but I believe it's about a 4 meg download. I did it the other day
and it's worth it, makes all the menus and the garage easier to use.

ICR2 DOS to Windows95????

There are two patches for ICR2 at the Sierra Web site that upgrade the dos
version to Win95.  Remember tho they renamed the sim from Indycar Racing 2 to
CART Racing.
I tried the win95 patch and it failed the first time.  There is a readme file
I skipped that is supposedly important!  :)

I heard of such a patch but I don't remember where I 've seen it
either at the PITS( theuspits.com ) or Simulator ***world
but in any case I suggest that you should use the Dos version
( try setting the Dos environment variable BLASTER like this

  set blaster=A220 I5 D1

for base port 220 Irq 5 and Dma 1

that worked for me for Nascar 2

)
