Powerslide freezes

by Derek McRa » Fri, 19 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I know there was a thread on this a couple months ago but I'm having the
same problem and can't get Powerslide to work. It freezes in the menu
screen before the game even starts (esp. if I get into the options or
graphics menu). I'm using CL Riva TNT, SB Live value, ASUS P2B, PII-400,
128mb PC100, Directx 6.1. I've installed the v1.01 patch and tried the
TNT reference drivers (both detonator and certified v1.07).

Any ideas?

G'day Derek,
I don't know if this applies as i have a different system to you.Mine would
crash after a few minutes play, intermittently, other times it would only get
to the opening screen with the cog imprint.
Solution for me after a month of stress, totally wiped powerslide, defragged
h/d,scanned,rebooted,installed powerslide,installed patch
upgrade, rebooted, and from then on ONLY STARTED powerslide from the CD NOT
FROM desktop shortcut or from programs\ratbags\powerslide !!!this seemed to
be the area of conflict, has worked for the last month without a hitch, hope
this helps.skellum
