    OK, now I'm pissed off. I've had this problem for ages. I didn't
play the game for months, thinking the patch may solve it, but alas, no
luck.
    Every fu*^ing time I try to set my axis or buttons, the game locks,
requiring a reset. I'm using a Thrustmaster GP1 in an SB Live joy port
on a Cel-300(450) with 2xV2s. I can jump into the game and play no
worries using the standard control setup (yay! digital acceleration and
braking). Happened for anyone else? Get around it??        Thanks......

Are you using Voodoo2 drivers other then 2.53 or 2.56? If so,
try the 2.56 drivers on

Hey. I'm having the same trouble and it's quite annoying. The only fix I've
found is to go into 'Players->yourname' and delete the file called
'control.ini'.  You have to re-set all the controls, but at least it's an
option. I will try the other chaps solution tonight... I'm running glide
2.43 I believe!

You definitely have the "buggy" 2.54 glide driver installed.

Two options:
1) Get the 2.53 driver from the fast lane (www.the-fastlane.com/patches.htm
and copy the .dll file in your GPL directory this way overruling the system
glide driver (only for GPL).

2) Get the newest native 3dfx driver at www.3dfx.com and install it on your
system.

Or set your renderer to software mode, set your joystick and then reset to
your 3dfx card, did it for me.
