The end result was the same.  But with the Park accident, I beleive his
steering wheel came off the spindle.  Then unfortunately his car dove to the
inside wall just as another vehicle was moving rapidly to the inside for the
double file restart.  Big hit.

Alex Zanardi - any Updates?

That is the best info I have....the yellow flag was about to end, the
driver(Park) was going thru a quick set of checks to make sure all was well,
guages...radio...wheel on tight...he probably gave it a quick yank to check
how solid it was and whoosh...off it came...car imeadiately dove to
inside(due to the physics similiar to N4 which causes that same strong pull
to the left.)
And unfortunately, another driver was trying to take his place on the
inside starting line and was moving up very quickly,  Park's car turned
directly infront of the 2nd vehicle.

Alex Zanardi - any Updates?

And from what I have heard, he is hurt much more than originally thought. I
have watched Steven grow up, from the time we were both "track-rats" getting
into trouble at the old Islip Speedway, I hope and pray he makes a full
recovery.

Damn...

What a bad month September has been.   We should have just skipped to
October!
